With these tips, you’ll get through the interview quickly and learn to speak your mind.
Why are we afraid to praise ourselves?
The impostor syndrome prevents us from proudly talking about our personal strengths. It is because of this person decides to keep a low profile, to keep silent, because he does not think that his knowledge and skills are of any value. People with this problem cannot express their point of view, oppose, defend their opinion in an argument.
Imposter syndrome comes from childhood, and it often goes hand in hand with otlichnik syndrome. A person who has been “burned” several times for expressing a different judgment and has been wrong or has made mistakes for which he has been scolded, may later be afraid to differ from the majority. Also, saying things that are fundamentally different from the opinion of others. For fear of miscalculation, someone may even choose a strategy of avoiding anything new. Why? It’s getting out of their comfort zone.
There is nothing wrong with staying in an area and in a place where everything is familiar to you. But it is worth remembering that you are depriving yourself of the opportunity to grow and develop. The Armenian proverb says, “The door opens the door,” which means that when we dare to try something unexplored, we get chances we didn’t even know we had. A whole other perspective may open up before us.
How do we make ourselves known without shyness?
Being able to talk about your strengths and “sell” yourself is important for development and career growth. If you beat your inner impostor, you will be able to put a higher price for their services, to boldly go to interviews, to defend their opinions in disputes, to ask for a promotion. You will grow in your own eyes and in the eyes of others. What to do for this?
